This collection consists of records related to the implementation of the National Security Council's Presidential Decision Directives (PDD) #1 and #2, signed by the President during his first days in office. These PDDs revised and renamed the framework governing the operation and makeup of the National Security Council. The collection primarily contains National Security Council briefing papers, various correspondence including e-mails and speeches.
