Jose Cabranes - Collection Finding Aid

This collection consists of records concerning Jose Cabranes, a possible nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court and Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit during the early years of Clinton’s presidency. Cabranes, who graduated from Yale Law School, was nominated and confirmed to the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. The native Puerto Rican most likely received consideration for the vacancies created by the retirement of Byron White and Harry Blackmun, respectively. The records in this collection include correspondence, memoranda, magazine and newspaper articles, press releases, and Lexis/Nexis materials related to the judicial opinions Cabranes played any role in issuing.
