Description
This collection consists of records regarding Iraq and Terrorism from January 1, 1994 through January 20, 2001. The records include letters, reports, press statements and briefings, speeches, news articles, email and Department of State cables. Iraq during the Clinton Administration was governed by President Saddam Hussein and was considered a terrorist state by the U.S. Department of State. Several documents deal with Iraq’s noncompliance with U.N. Resolutions and with the Turkish military’s incursions into northern Iraq to fight the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, a terrorist organization better known as PKK. The majority of the records responsive to this FOIA are closed for national security reasons.
Please Note: No items in this collection have yet been scanned nor made available online. For access to the collection please visit the Clinton Library's research room.
