White House Travel Office - Collection Finding Aid

This collection consists of records regarding the termination and dismissal on May 19, 1993 of seven White House Travel Office employees: Billy Ray Dale, Gary Wright, John Dreylinger, Ralph Maughan, John McSweeney, Barnaby Brasseaux, and Robert Van Eimeren. The media heavily criticized the White House’s actions, calling the firings and ensuing investigations “Travelgate.” The records include Congressional correspondence, memoranda, audits, Travel Office financial records, presidential schedules, the First Lady’s appointment calendars, travel lists relating to White House press that accompanied the president on official trips, e-mails, and press clippings.
