These records describe the Clinton Administration’s proposal to apply federal immigration and minimum wage laws to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI); and also the CNMI’s circumvention of US garment duties and quotas. Records also include materials concerning resolutions of the CNMI legislature, US disaster relief following typhoons, and invitations to the CNMI regarding events such as the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Events for World War II.
