This collection consists of records related to the Digital Divide and National Information Infrastructure (NII). This collection includes articles, booklets, printed cables, Congressional requests, correspondence, printed emails, invitations, maps, policies, press releases, printed web pages and online reports, publications, Presidential remarks, reports, scheduling materials, and talking points. Topics regarding the National Information Infrastructure include the Advisory Council, awards, economic benefits, executive orders, guidelines, intellectual property, intergovernmental political forums, NII initiatives (such as digital libraries, education, electronic commerce, and environmental monitoring), minutes, privacy, the private sector, protecting information infrastructure, Section 1061 of the Defense Authorization Act, and the Task Force. Digital Divide topics include AmeriCorps, conferences and events, disabilities, disadvantaged communities, dot force, the international digital divide, Native American communities, the New Markets initiative, the PowerUP initiative, public private partnerships, access to information technology in schools, site profiles, international cooperation and assistance, and also summits, trips, and tours.
