Title:King Hussein of Jordan and the Middle East Peace Process - Collection Finding Aid
Description:This collection consists of memoranda, memcons, telcons, correspondence, talking points, cables, and emails that highlight the key position King Hussein of Jordan occupied in the Middle East Peace Process during the presidency of Bill Clinton. The material illustrates the close and amicable relationship that developed between Hussein and Clinton and led to considerable progress being made in the general state of affairs in the Middle East. A lasting agreement proved to be elusive, but the two men continued to work at what was viewed by many as an intractable issue right up until the death of Hussein on February 7, 1999.
