Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Database - Collection Finding Aid

This collection contains records pertaining to the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database. The SAVE database system was created with passage of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 in order to verify alien immigration status. This request also contains records regarding a draft bill to make technical amendments to the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrants Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) of 1996, and the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996. Within the draft are responsive materials to this FOIA request relating to Section 642 of the IIRIRA.
