This collection consists of records regarding Betty Friedan. It contains correspondence, notes, news releases, book draft, and emails. The subject file records in this collection relate to Ms. Friedan’s seminar on "Reframing Family Values", Guild Hall’s Annual Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Award, and remarks made by the President to the Renaissance Group in 1994. The electronic records in this collection primarily concern the inclusion of Betty Friedan in various White House events regarding women’s rights as well as labor, and discuss her consideration for the Presidential Medal of Freedom, an award she ultimately did not receive.
