This collection consists of records related to Hazel O’Leary, who served as Secretary of the Department of Energy from January 22, 1993 until January 20, 1997. O’Leary was the first female and the first African-American to hold that position. The records in this collection contain memoranda, letters, reports and press articles. Topics include foreign travel by O’Leary and her staff, including trade missions to India, Pakistan, China, and South Africa, and agreements with foreign governments for the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
