This collection consists of records related to Merrick Garland. President Clinton nominated Garland to the United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia seat on September 6, 1995 and Garland began serving in this capacity on March 20, 1997. The collection contains a wide variety of materials including articles, biographies, book chapters, clippings, emails, forms, letters, memoranda, notes, press releases, and resumes. These materials describe Garland’s career (including his work at the Department of Justice), the caseload of the D.C. Circuit, and also Garland's appointment to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
