This collection consists of records related to the Monsanto Corporation. It contains correspondence between Monsanto Chairman and CEO Robert B. Shapiro and President Clinton regarding opening New York to London air routes, the Product Liability Reform Act of 1996, Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) with China, the nomination of Ambassador Barshefsky as the U.S. Trade Representative, and the U.S. – E.U. Transatlantic Economic partnership. The collection also includes invitations for the President to attend a “Concert to Rebuild” by the St. Louis symphony orchestra and suggestions of locations to visit during the President’s 1998 trip to Africa.
