This collection consists of letters, email and memoranda concerning communication and correspondence between the Florida Governor John Ellis Bush and the White House. The correspondence addresses a number of diverse topics, including Cuban refugee Elian Gonzalez, Hurricanes Floyd and Irene, and on the use of racial set-asides in admission decisions at the University of Florida. The collection also contains more routine communications, including birthday greetings and nominations for the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The email consists of correspondence concerning Bush and topics such as the Restoration of the Everglades, Elian Gonzalez, Affirmative Action, and the National Governor’s Association Annual Winter Meeting in Washington D.C.
