THE PRESIDENT AND MRS. CLINTON
HOST THE GOVERNORS OF THE UNITED STATES AND TERRITORIES AT
WHITE HOUSE DINNER
WASHINGTON, DC -- The President and Mrs. Clinton this evening
will host a black tie dinner honoring the Governors of the united
states and Territories. Guests will begin arriving at the East
Executive Entrance of the White House at 7:00 PM.
The dinner menu will be:

Grilled pillow of Lamb
Compote Garlic Jus
Fingerling Potatoes with Thyme
Oven Dried Tomatoes

The 131 guests will be seated in the State Dinning Room. The
thirteen tables will be set with the Reagan China, gold cutlery,
and Morgantown Crystal on a red linen table cloth. In place of
floral centerpieces, the tables will be decorated with pieces
from the White House's American Craft Collection. The craft
pieces will be accented with white amaryllis blossoms and maranta
leaves, and four 15 inch gold candle sticks holding 23 inch cream
tapers.

Berlin, Rogers and Hart, Jerome Kern, Herman Hupfeld, Kurt Weill,
Dorothy Fields, and Mary Yeston. Glenn Mehrbach will accompany
Ms. Marcovicci on the piano.
At the conclusion of the entertainment, the guests will move to
the Grand Foyer for dancing. The music will be provided by the
President's Marine Corps Band.

Philadelphia, PA has been cancelled to due server weather conditions.
Mrs. CUnton was expected to be in Philadelphia Thursday, January
20.
The extreme cold temperatures, accompanied by severe wind chill
factors and icing conditions, have produced heavy residential and
commercial usage of heat and electorial supplies which have resulted in
electrical brownouts, stoppages, and other heating shortages
throughout Pennsylvania.
At this time Mrs. CUnton's trip has not beenrescl!eduled.

Statement by the Press Secretary
President Clinton today announced the delegation to the 1994 Winter
Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. The delegation will be lead by
First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The United States Delegation will be:
First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton - Delegation Chair.
Ambassador Thomas Loftus - United States Ambassador to Norway.
Florence Griffith Joyner - Co-Chair of the President's Council on
Physical Fitness and Sports. Ms. Joyner is a 1984 and 1988 Olympic
Medalist. Mission VieJO, California.
Kathy Karpan :. Secretary of State of Wyoming.
David Matthews - Partner in the Arkansas law Firm of Matthews,
Campbell and Rhoads. Rogers, Arkansas.
Tom McMillen - Co-Chair of the President's Council on Physical
Fitness and Sports. Mr. McMillen was a member of the Umted States
House of Representatives from 1987 - 1993. He was three time
All-American in basketball and a member of the 1972 U.S. Olympic

WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG ROLL AND HUNT SCHEDULED FOR
MONDAY, APRIL, 4, 1994
WASHINGTON, DC -- The White House will hold its traditional
Easter Egg Roll and Hurit on Monday, April 4, 1994. The Easter
activities include the Easter Egg Roll and Hunt for children ages
3 through 6 ori the South Lawn of the White House. All other
activities and entertainment will be held on the Ellipse.
Tickets for the South Lawn are required and can be picked up at
the National Park Service Pavilion on the Ellipse on Monday,
April 4. Distribution of tickets for activities on the White
House lawn will begin at
8:00 AM. Tickets are not required for
activities on the Ellipse.

HARD BOILED FACTS:
There will be 30,000 wooden eggs used at this year's event.

The speckled pastel eggs feature a silhouette of the White House
and the signatures of the President and First Lady.
o
There will be 7,200 hard boiled eggs used for the Egg Roll.
The eggs are dyed by the White House Chef.
o
Entertainers on the Ellipse will perform on two stages.
Expected entertainers are: Sharon, Lois & Bram; Nicolette
Larson; Tom Chapin; Lamb Chop and Her Own Show; Parachute
Express; Dennis Hysom & and the Wolley Cat; Vince Vance and the
Valiants. (A Complete list of entertainers will be available the
day of the event.)

Additional activities on the Ellipse include: Denny Dent
and His Two Fisted Art Attack, You Gotta Believe: Kids, Rally for
the Future, Baby Diaper Derby, and Sesame Street Read and Play •
o
Adults must be accompanied by a child age 3 to 6 year of age
to enter the White House Lawn. All persons are required to have
a ticket. Ticket distribution begins at 8:00 AM at the National
Park Service Pavilion on the Ellipse. Activities on the Ellipse
do not require tickets and are open to children of all ages.

The original site of the Easter Egg Roll was on the grounds
of the U~ited States Capitol during the Presidency of'James
Madison. In 1878 President Hayes and his wife Lucy officially
moved the Easter activities to the White House grounds. The
Easter Egg Roll has taken place on the White House Lawn since
1878 except during World War 1 and World War II. During the War
years, the Easter Egg Roll was held at the National Zoo, and
other Washington locations.

In the event of rain, the Easter Monday activities will be
cancelled.
