H o l i n e s s t h e D a l a i Lama and d i s c u s s e d issues r e l a t i n g t o T i b e t .
"The D a l a i D^rna i s i n t e r n a t i o n a l l y r e v e r e d f o r h i s s p i r i t u a l and
moral l e a d e r s h i p , " t h e P r e s i d e n t s a i d . "As a Nobel Peace P r i z e
winner and committed advocate o f n o n v i o l e n t change and r e s o l u t i o n
of d i s p u t e s , I deeply a p p r e c i a t e d h e a r i n g t h e D a l a i Lama's views
on t h e s i t u a t i o n i n China, i n c l u d i n g T i b e t . The A d m i n i s t r a t i o n
c o n t i n u e s t o urge B e i j i n g and the D a l a i Lama t o r e v i v e a d i a l o g u e
between them and presses China t o address human r i g h t s abuses i n
Tibet."
