Scope and Content
The materials in FOIA 2009-1157-F are a systematic body of documents responsive to the topic of the
FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials.
FOIA request 2009-1157-F contains records on Secretary of State Warren Christopher’s trip to Central
and South America in February and March 1996. During his nearly two week trip, Secretary
Christopher traveled to El Salvador, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
FOIA request 2009-1157-F consists entirely of electronic records in the form of cables. The NSC Cable,
Email, and Records Management Systems contain cables of speeches given by Secretary Christopher
during his trip and summaries of news reports on the Secretary’s meetings with various South American
leaders and delegations.
