Dear Zlata:
Thank you so much fo~ your letter and for your kind
words of encouragement. I've kept yourmoving story
in my ·thoughts these past months. Your courage and
determination are an inspiration· for us all.
I am proud that we can now hold out hope that our
mission in Bosnia will help stop the killing of
civilians -- especially children; With America's
leadership and the commitment of our allies, the
people of Bosnia will now have the opportunity to
build a lasting peace.
As I continue working toward this goal, I thank you
for all you have done to shed light on the tragedy
in Bosnia and bring hope to its innocent victims.

Dear Mr. President,
I would like in my own name, but in the name of all the
children of Sarajevo, my hometown, and of all the children of
Bosnia, to thank you most sincerely on what you, with the power

the reason win.
With your help, the peace in my country has been
signed -- the chance is given to reason and to reasonable people,
so that the peace in my country becomes reality.

it.
Thank you on opening the door of the future for the children
of my country, because everything that happened to them was a

The innocent ones lost the right to live,
to enjoy the life, to educate.
The time which is in front of us
