Dear Judith:
I am delighted that I finally had the opportunity to meet you and
to actually spend time with you in dialogue about such critical
issues.
I applaud your dedication and determination to seek the
very best for all"our.children.
My sincere thanks_to you for the many things you did to make the
vis
such a pleasant one fo'r Julie and me. My greetings to your.
assistants and a very special thank you to ypur driver.
The discussion both with the larger group in you~ office as well
as the briefing were stimulating and informative in a very
practical way.
But of cours~, nothing can compare to visiting
the "real thing," which we did in visiting the Children's Centers
on Wednesday morning.
Julie and I returned to the White House to
proudly display the children's artwork, which will certainly
provoke questions by visitors and lead into a description and
glowing prais~ of what we learned from the children.
I do want to follow up on your suggestion about a visit with the
Children's Committee. Can you advise-me as to the best next
steps to have the
scussion occur in my of ce?
Again, thank yori for your valuable time and, above all,
for caring in a committed way about our children.
