At·tached for your leqal review is the above-referenced compact,
which has ~een signed by both a representative of the State of
Ma ssachusetts and the Tribal Chairperson, Beverly Wriqht. We ·have·
ve~ified that Chairperson Wriqht. is the duly-recocjni,zed tribaf
official ·and that she is authorized to act on l:lehalf of the Tribe.
· Alt\' houqh t.he compact has been executed by William F. Weld., Governor
of the Commonwealth of Massachuse~ts, Section 35 of. the Compact
· prpvides that the Compact shall become effective at the later of
· (1) the. secretary's pUblication of· the compact in the Federal
Reqister or ( 2) .·the· enactment of the Compact by. the Massachusetts
Ge~eral Court and approval of such enactment, by the Governor.
