This collection consists of material regarding the Clinton Administration’s handling of the global AIDS crisis. It contains correspondence, memoranda, talking points, drafts, invitations, background material, agendas and minutes, executive orders, speeches, informational packets, travel documents, emails, cables, reports, and press materials regarding a variety of issues related to the fight against HIV/AIDS. The topics addressed include the Haitian detention crisis, federal budget, foreign aid, collaboration with other governments, international agencies (such as WHO and the UN) and NGOs, international conferences, a Presidential Mission to Africa, pharmaceutical companies, tuberculosis, individual countries, and some crossover domestic issues, such as dealing with HIV positive persons in the US military and the inclusion of the virus as an excludable illness under the Immigration and Naturalization Act. This collection consists of material regarding the Clinton Administration’s handling of the global AIDS crisis. It contains correspondence, memoranda, talking points, drafts, invitations, background material, agendas and minutes, executive orders, speeches, informational packets, travel documents, emails, cables, reports, and press materials regarding a variety of issues related to the fight against HIV/AIDS. An account of the resource
This collection consists of material regarding the Clinton Administration’s handling of the global AIDS crisis. It contains correspondence, memoranda, talking points, drafts, invitations, background material, agendas and minutes, executive orders, speeches, informational packets, travel documents, emails, cables, reports, and press materials regarding a variety of issues related to the fight against HIV/AIDS. The topics addressed include the Haitian detention crisis, federal budget, foreign aid, collaboration with other governments, international agencies (such as WHO and the UN) and NGOs, international conferences, a Presidential Mission to Africa, pharmaceutical companies, tuberculosis, individual countries, and some crossover domestic issues, such as dealing with HIV positive persons in the US military and the inclusion of the virus as an excludable illness under the Immigration and Naturalization Act.
