Scope and Content
The materials in FOIA 2006-0497-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents
responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials.
FOIA request 2006-0497-F consists of schedules, background materials, press releases and pool reports
related to President Clinton’s daily activities of March 13 and March 14, 1997. President Clinton traveled to
Raleigh, North Carolina on March 13 and then onto Miami, Florida that same day. While in Raleigh,
President Clinton addressed a joint session of the North Carolina Legislature. Later that day, President
Clinton traveled to Miami where he attends a DSCC (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee) fundraiser
for Senator Phil Graham. President Clinton was scheduled to tour a school and participate in a golf
tournament on Friday, March 14. However, President Clinton injured his knee while descending stairs at the
home of professional golfer, Greg Norman. President Clinton was flown to Bethesda Maryland on March14
for knee repair surgery.

System of Arrangement
Records that were responsive to this FOIA request were found in one collection area - Clinton Presidential
Records: White House Staff and Office Files. As policy, Staff and Office Files are processed at the folder
level. That is, individual documents are not selected and removed from a folder for processing. While this
method maintains folder integrity, it frequently results in the incidental processing of documents that are not
wholly responsive to the subject area.
The following is a list of documents and folders processed in response to FOIA 2006-0497-F:
